In order to avoid confrontation, in "Suburban", John Ciardi uses contextual comedy, aphorisms, and anecdotal sarcasm to convey that swallowing your pride can help keep good reletionships.
I like your thesis! Aphorism needs an adjective, and there doesn't need to be a comma after "in order to avoid confrontation" but other than that, good job!
I second Ian. I think your thesis was nice as well. I also this you should have chosen a simpler picture. There is far too much going on in that photo.
